Keep the revision history

Record the date, revision and scope for every offer. A revised quantity, profile or delivery request may invalidate a previous comparison even if the unit price stays the same. Keep the original document and note which revision the worksheet represents.

Ask for confirmation at the decision point

Price validity, availability and lead time come from the supplier’s current confirmation. This site does not provide live inventory or predict future prices. A request for pricing or availability asks the team to check; it is not evidence that material is available now.

Turn a comparison into a reviewed order scope

Before ordering, reconcile the final material description, quantities, lengths, delivery, charges and unresolved technical details with the supplier. Export the assumptions used in the comparison. A worksheet is useful decision support, but it is not a purchase order or acceptance of contract terms.

A PURCHASING CALCULATION

A purchasing calculation

An offer dated last month is compared with a revised quote that includes a new profile and delivery address. The buyer requests a refreshed matching scope before ranking the totals. The worksheet retains both dates and records that the older offer needs reconfirmation.
