Enter stock quantity before the unusable proportion is deducted. This comparison does not increase an order to meet a net requirement. Piece-priced offers round up to whole pieces. For example, 1,000 LF with 10% unusable leaves 900 usable LF; obtaining 1,000 usable LF would require about 1,111.11 LF before stock-length rounding.

SF uses the supplier billing width; usable coverage uses the effective covered face. BF uses the supplied billing dimensions, which may differ from finished dimensions. Tax is an illustrative material-only assumption; enter separately quoted additional tax in other charges. No trade tally rounding or price validity is inferred.

Normalize the offer before comparing the price

Two quotations are comparable only when their units, supplied material and included services describe the same requirement. Keep each supplier's original offer intact, then record any conversion or adjustment separately so the comparison can be checked.

Match the supplied product

Compare species identification, grade or appearance description, actual dimensions, profile, length conditions and quantity basis. An attractive unit price for a different supplied specification is not a lower price for the same order.

Separate the line price from the total commitment

Record freight, packaging, taxes, minimum quantities, exclusions and validity dates as stated. Mark an omitted charge as unknown rather than zero. Identify which terms are firm and which still require a current supplier response.

Example: pieces versus linear feet

In a hypothetical offer, ten pieces at eight feet each represent eighty linear feet. A per-piece price can be converted for comparison only if that length and supplied specification are established. A random-length offer needs its own documented tally basis; do not assign every piece the same length.
